A Bit About SHOONYA

Shoonya theatre group is led by Dr. Rama Yadav, presently professor at Miranda House college, Delhi University,Ph.D. scholar in theatre from Delhi University ,holds 2 yrs Diploma certification from SRC.  Represented India as Hindi Chair in Budapest (Hungary) under cultural exchange program, ICCR for 2 years . She staged performances of “Meerabai” at different important stages and has been working with renowned theatre personality Sh. Bhanu Bharti since the beginning of her theatre career (20 years), worked as an actor and assisted him in various major productions. She has been associated with all India radio since 1997.

Shoonya was founded in 2016 and since then has been working actively in the field of theatre.  Some of the notable works of  Shoonya are , Mohan Rakesh's "Ashad Ka Ek Din" , Dharamveer Bharti's "Andha Yug" ,  Jaishankar Prasad's "Pralay Ki Chaya" , Isadora Duncan's "My Life" ,Kalidas's "Meghdoot", O Henry's "The Last Leaf" .  These plays have been performed on several stages , theatre festivals and states.

Shoonya has gained expertise in exploring Theatre of poems "कविता का रंगमंच" staging various long /short poems and stories throughout the year. We also organize "Arohan- short story theatre festival" annually. 

Shoonya has an active YouTube channel where we release Hindi poetry, short stories and Interviews. Our podcast has listeners from around the world.  Shoonya also manages an active blog where articles related to the field of theatre are released on a regular basis. 

Facilitation of folk artists from different regions of India is undertaken as a very modest initiative, Shoonya manages a theatre studio in Delhi where art exhibitions, screenings, poetry sessions, painting sessions , workshops and art performances are held regularly .

Shoonya is associated with Bal sahyog an NGO based in Delhi for underprivileged children, regularly conducts theatre in education workshops. Associated with the Utaran foundation for social welfare activities. Associated with children of a remote mountain village in Uttrakhand.
