About the Play

Famous Russian playwright Anton Chekhov needs no introduction in the world of theatre ,one of the most prominent figures who introduced modernism in theatre. His last play "The Cherry Orchard" is one of his masterpiece creations written in 1903. Cherry orchard revolves around human nature and social change , Chekhov has very beautifully portrayed Russian culture via different shades of tragedy , comedy , grief , sorrow etc. .

Checkov`s mastery at abstract art is reflected throughout the play. Way he weaves changing social relations with changing time among different sects of a society and their overall impact is impeccable.

About the Director

Dr. Rama Yadav presently professor of Hindi at Delhi University ,Ph.D. scholar in “Natak aur Rangmanch” from Delhi University ,2 yrs. Diploma certification from SRC. She has represented India as Hindi Chair in Budapest (Hungary), under cultural exchange program, ICCR for 2 years, where she staged performances of “Meerabai” at different important stages. She has been working with very famous theatre director Sh. Bhanu Bharti since beginning of her theatre career, worked as an actor and assisted him in various major productions. She has been working with all India radio since 1997.
